• Bathsheba Holidays

Bathsheba is a popular place for tourists and Barbadians. Along its rugged coastline this small resort has particular rock formations that rest, balancing on the waves. This natural curiosity has maintained a sense of mystery…

In this area of the island nicknamed the Soup Bowl, it is not advisable to venture into the waters. Atlantic waves make swimming difficult. If you are, on the other hand, a lover of surfing then you've found the perfect spot! Local and international competitions are also held regularly on this beach.

Amongst the characteristic rocks of Bathsheba Beach, Bathsheba Rock in particular is undoubtedly one that will attract your curiosity. Today this old rock formation that broke from an ancient coral reef is covered with vegetation and appears to be balanced on the beach, washed by the waves.

The entire coastline of this area has seen these rocks break, which have since stood there, creating in different places natural rock pools, that prove very popular with bathers who come to relax for hours. According to an old legend, the waters of Bathsheba, rich in minerals can be good for the health and beauty of the body.

    Amazing Bathsheba Holidays

The Cattlewash Beach with shallow and sheltered waters not far from the village is another alternative which will bring you even closer to the fantasy of a postcard beach : crystal clear water, white sand, palm trees, you’re not dreaming you are in paradise!

In addition to its beach and natural pools, there are plenty of wonders to explore in this little fishing village. Bathsheba Park, a small park by the sea is a charming place to have a picnic break under the shade of the trees.

The city itself is worth a visit, with its many picturesque churches, including Saint Joseph Anglican Church. When visiting this hillious region, we recommend a detour to the Andromeda Botanic Gardens which holds a collection of over 600 species of tropical plants from the Caribbean and all around the world!

Most of all you will be amazed by the friendliness and sense of hospitality of the inhabitants of Bathsheba. They will share their joy of life, tinged with reggae music and rum when the sun comes down.

Once you set a foot in Bathsheba you will forget all of your troubles and never want to return home.
